Slow Cooker Chili
An Italian sausage chili to warm up family holidays.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs hot italian sausage
- 1 lb lean group beef
- 2 medium onions, coarsely chopped
- 2 x 3/4 oz envelopes of chili seasoning mix
- 4 x 16 oz cans of dark red kidney beans, drained
- 4 x 14 oz cans of diced tomatoes, drained (2 regular, 2 petite)
- 2 x 6 oz cans of tomatoe paste
- 1 x 32 oz carton of chicken stock
- 1/2 cup Texas Pete hot sauce
- 1 Tbsp fennel, crushed
- Fritos
- diced onion
- sour cream
- Mexican cheese
Directions
- Partially cook sausage and ground beef in a large skillet.
- Remove meat from skillet and drain.
- Sauté diced onion until translucent.
- Add meat and onion to your slow cooker.
- Add all other ingredients except 1 can of petite diced tomatoes.
- Cover and cook for 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high.
- 1 hour before serving, add 1 can of petite diced tomatoes.
- Serve topped w/ cheese, onions, Fritos and sour cream.
