Carnitas

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lb Boston butt pork roast
  • 1 1.25 oz. package taco seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 1 x 4 oz can whole green chiles
  • 1 cup water
  • flour tortillas
  • lettuce
  • tomatoes
  • avocados
  • limes
  • scallions
  • cilantro
  • sour cream

Directions

  1. Put pork, seasoning, chiles, onion & garlic into slow cooker. Add water.
  2. Cook covered for 6 hours on high, 10 hours on low covered or until pork can be shredded.
  3. Shred with forks. Return to cooker with 1 cup of the juice.
  4. Serve on tortillas topped with lime juice, lettuce, tomatoes, avocados, scallions, cilantro & sour cream.
